By John Gibson. Willow Studio at Greenside @ Riddles Court
A re-imagining through a queer lens and certain aspects heightened to make the tale relevant to our uncaring, late-capitalist society. Using old-school pantomime and broad camp (with a polyamorous Gen-Z Arthur), this show is obviously well-liked. It provides fun, queer laughs and doesn’t take itself too seriously. I suppose that’s why the sex magick aspects and incantations felt so abrupt and derailed what was mostly well-performed and received. If you want queer, camp fun then look no further than this show by Faerietale Theatre / Rhymes with Purple.
